Wendy
Wang

A software engineer by profession and pianist by passion, Wendy Wang, originally from Guangdong, China, has built an active musical life alongside her work at Microsoft. She began studying piano at age four. At 16, she embarked on a year-long cultural exchange in Massachusetts, where she performed in a pre-concert event and masterclass with Van Cliburn winner Jon Nakamatsu and was profiled in the Cape Cod Chronicle. She later earned a degree in Computer Science and Statistics from UBC and now works as a Software Engineer at Microsoft.

After a five-year break, Wendy returned to the piano and won gold at the 2023 Viennese Classical Festival. She has soloed with the Tacoma Concerto Festival (2021, 2024), performed at Orquesta Northwest’s 2024 and 2025 Latino Chamber Music Festival, and performed Carmina Burana with the Seattle Philharmonic at the Benaroya Hall in 2025, playing on both piano and celesta. Same year, she appeared at the PianoTexas International Festival, where she competed in the concerto competition, and was a finalist at the 2026 Boston International Piano Competition.

Beyond music, Wendy was featured on Microsoft’s In Real Life show and in a book called The Women of Microsoft, published by Wiley in August 2025.
